1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CustomsCheck, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service immediately.

2. Nature of the Service

CustomsCheck is an informational tool that uses AI and publicly available customs data to provide general guidance on what travellers may or may not bring across international borders. The information provided:

  • Is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal or official customs advice.
  • May be incorrect, incomplete, or outdated. Customs regulations change frequently and without notice.
  • Is generated in part by AI systems (Google Gemini) that may produce inaccurate or hallucinated information.
  • Must always be verified against official government and customs authority sources before you travel.

3. User Accounts

CustomsCheck offers optional user accounts. You may use the service without an account, but signing in enables trip and search history to be saved across sessions.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide a valid email address to register. You agree not to create accounts using false or misleading information.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Account Tiers & Usage Limits

CustomsCheck operates on a two-tier account system. The following limits apply:

Free Tier

  • Up to 100 customs searches in total
  • Item list capped at 5 items per check
  • Powered by Gemini 2.5 Flash
  • Trip and search history saved to account
  • Ads displayed to support the free service

Paid Tier

  • Unlimited customs searches
  • Item batches of up to 20 items per check
  • Powered by a more powerful Gemini model
  • Larger batch processing, faster results
  • Requires valid billing details on account

To activate a paid tier account, you must provide valid billing information (full name, billing address, and phone number) in your Account Settings. We reserve the right to modify tier limits and pricing at any time with reasonable notice.

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CustomsCheck, its operators, developers, affiliates, and data providers expressly disclaim all liability for:

  • Any fines, penalties, infringement notices, or criminal charges arising from reliance on information provided by this service.
  • Confiscation, seizure, or destruction of goods at customs based on guidance from this service.
  • Travel delays, denied entry, or deportation resulting from incorrect or outdated customs information.
  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages of any kind.
  • Inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in AI-generated customs guidance, including hallucinated or fabricated regulatory information.
  • Loss or corruption of saved trip history, search history, or account data.

Customs regulations are complex, jurisdiction-specific, and subject to change without notice. You use this service entirely at your own risk. CustomsCheck does not warrant that any information provided is accurate, current, or complete.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid to use the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service, including but not limited to: attempting to circumvent account tier limits or security measures, submitting false or misleading information, using the service for any unlawful purpose, or scraping or reproducing content without permission. You must not share your account credentials or allow others to use your account.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code within CustomsCheck is the property of its operators. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

8. Third-Party Services

CustomsCheck integrates with the following third-party services. Use of these features is subject to the respective third-party terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or outputs of third-party services.

  • Supabase — Provides authentication and database services for user accounts, session management, and data persistence. Subject to Supabase's Terms of Service.
  • Google Gemini — AI model used for photo-based item recognition and customs guidance generation. Free-tier users are served by Gemini 2.5 Flash; paid-tier users by a more powerful Gemini model. Outputs are AI-generated and may be inaccurate. Subject to Google's Terms of Service.
  • Google AdSense — Advertising platform used to display ads that support the free service. Ad content is served by Google and is subject to Google's Advertising Policies. CustomsCheck does not control the content of individual ads.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate jurisdiction as determined by the operators of the service.
